Hairhouse Extended
A colllaboration with Hannah Tolf
The performance Hairhouse Extended is sprung out of the video Hairhouse; which investigates the relation between hair, power, and desire. In the video, a seemingly absurd production line takes place in a makeshift basement factory. It focuses on the ambivalent relation between hair as a symbol of beauty with symbolic and aesthetic capital, and as something abject, bodily and dirty. In the performance different positions from the video are extended in the room and negotiated in a choreography. With sound from hair being brushed.
